A Maze In Labyrinth Pitch
Spoilers Warning

There’s a problem.

There are no good maze games.

Everybody knows whats a “maze” or a “labyrinth”.
(In spanish, my language, they mean the same thing.)

But people think of something that looks like this

A very simple, short, black and white, just hug the left side until you win, kind of game

Is either a circle or a square and it only gets harder (boring and slow) by making the maze bigger

In other games the maze is always secondary to

Horror
Visual Novels
Or something more casual, closer to a mobile game

There is basically no competition on Steam

For both “Maze” and “Labyrinth”
Not even for mobile, “Maze Runner” is an infinite runner, not a maze

The rest are similar; no competition for premium games
Back on PC, The biggest labyrinth game is Labyrinthine and it’s a horror game first
I had to play that on max brightness and max contrast with my friends to barely beat it
The second is Labyrinth City; i’ll call it the only real competition

At least 67,000 copies sold and selling consistently for 5 years
I think that’s because it’s a better game than the almost nonexistent competition, and a lot of people search for “maze” and “labyrinth.”
Let’s add another game to that blue ocean

A Maze in a Labyrinth is a maze game first and an adventure second.
Inspired by games like “The Witness,”

The maze looks like a Zelda overworld with no loading times and no slow screen transitions

Interconnected open zones, each with its own theme, gameplay twist, music, history, etc.

Textless (only the menu has text, and it’s already translated in 14 languages), the story is told through environmental storytelling.

Art inspired by the SNES classics, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger

Atmospheric, not a sad game like “To The Moon” but nostalgic, melancholic, and dreamy.

Play it how you want to play it.
- The environmental storytelling is optional
- You can go to the “exit” directly after the tutorial or 100% the game (around 1 collectible per area).
- Never hard stuck because there are plenty of ways to go to other areas or skip them entirely.
- Some areas are more focused on puzzles, others on skill, or both.
- Cannot beat it by just going left
- You don’t start at the edge, nor the center.
- It’s a little 3-dimensional because the maze has 3 “floors.”
- 3 playable characters with different controls and ways to traverse the maze.
- 2 Difficulty options.
- No wasted time.

The game is basically finished; I’m just fixing bugs until I find a publisher.
